I’m not going to lie.  I actually do envy men a little…  Why?  They seem to have a much more practical and less complicated life than women.  But as women we can get away with some much more.  Nonetheless, my male friends think that, because they are men, they don’t have to take care of their skin.  But we all need to take care of ourselves, so like women, men need to use some products to keep themselves healthy.

Clearly it’s not just about looking good when we’re talking about skincare.  Nowadays, we have to be very mindful of the sun, since its rays can cause skin cancer and wrinkles.  So, gentlemen, your products should include sunblock to protect yourselves.

Speaking of wrinkles: yes, men do get wrinkles.  Although men have thicker skin than women, they tend to spend more time outside.  To help keep the wrinkles at bay, moisturize your skin daily with a good moisturizer/sunblock combo.

To care for your skin the best way you can, it’s very important to choose products that best suit your skin type.  To determine your skin type, wash your face with face wash and wait 20 – 30 minutes to see the natural oil of your face appear.  If your skin feels tight, flaky, and rough, then you have dry skin.  If your skin has open pores and you can see the oil on your face after a few minutes, you have oily skin.  If your face is neither tight nor oily, you have normal skin.  Lastly, if you have some shine on your forehead, nose and chin, while the rest of your face is normal or a bit dry, then you have combination skin.
