Vintage Prague

Inspired by Frank Sinatra
This shoot took place in a vintage bar in Prague… it was the perfect look and place; it couldn’t have been better.  This bar reminded me of Rick Blaine in Casablanca.  It’s all about having the right HAT!

This look was inspired by the 1960s and one of my favorite men in the world, FRANK SINATRA.  He used to wear a hat similar to this one… I will forever love his style; he really knew how to pull it off the suit and hat look.

For this shoot, I am wearing a girly, mustard-colored ASOS shirt with crème details, plus Chanel vintage earrings (from the Milan vintage market) and an ASOS vintage-inspired necklace.  I think it looks very COOL to mix this look with a skull necklace… it gives it an extra touch and makes the look a bit less formal.

A Newport Summer Day

Rhode Island is IN this summer.  One of my favorite fashionistas, Marcelle de Moya, knows how to look effortlessly CHIC by pairing blue and white and mixing silver and gold metals in her accessories!  Her look is inspired by the Newport Bay in Rhode Island with its beautiful boats, the majestic blue water, and the red wharf signs.

Wearing an outfit is not just about combining pretty things, it's about creating a feeling and incorporating your own personal touch.  Marcelle does that perfectly.

I LOVE this girl and her nautical look… Watch out Newport, this is just the beginning!

For this shoot, Marcelle is wearing a blue Zara sweater, vintage white shorts, a borrowed hat (from her roommate), and a COOL Il Prato scarf.  She is also wearing a camel-colored Hermès belt, the IDEAL Louis Vuitton summer bag, Jenny Polanco earrings, and Cartier and Hermès bracelets.

Fashion Lovers VI-1940s inspired Pillar Defillo

Pilar Defillo, is a very COOL fashionista from Santo Domingo.  She has a very unique style that I just ADORE, always knowing the perfect outfit to wear.

Pilar loves incorporating eccentric accessories into her daily wardrobe, which gives her look an overall Indie vibe.  This look is very IN right now.

To complete her overall look, Pilar styled her hair in a 1940s-inspired chignon.  But she gave it a MODERN twist by keeping it a bit messy, letting the pieces fall as they may.  It’s TRÈS CHIC!

For this shoot, Pilar is wearing an ivory vintage dress, a Bliss Lau skull necklace, and Steve Madden black wedges.

Magnus, an innovative Swedish fashion designer, is today’s pick for my Fashion Lovers series.  He has an amazing style and always knows how to dress for the occasion.

My favorite piece of this photo shoot is Magnus’ bag.  Designed by Magnus for his fashion line, fhonetics, the bag is hand painted, giving it a FUNKY vibe.

For this shoot, he is wearing a fhonetics jacket, vest, sweater, and bag, Levi’s 511 jean, 100PER100 shoes, vintage sunglasses (from Milan), and a vintage belt (from Stockholm).  He is also wearing jewelry from an independent goldsmith from Egypt/ Cyprus.

Fashion Lovers III - Rafaela Eusebio

Today’s fashionista is Rafaela Eusebio Ventura, a photographer and blogger from The Dominican Republic.  She has an extremely COOL and eccentric style.  She’s not afraid to mix and match fabrics, oftentimes creating a unique mosaic.  I LOVE her style from head to toe!

It's so important to be creative with what you wear!  I wake up every morning excited about my day’s outfit.

I decided to make today’s post a little bit more interesting by asking Rafaela to describe what she was wearing in the photo shoot.  Rafaela is wearing:

“First STYLE: shoes from shoe village, size 37, black heels with stiletto design/pomp’s. The skirt, Zara kids, 11-13 years (I never used it as a kid, but I found it and it’s gorgeous).  Shirt, I have no idea who made it- TAG IS GONE- mother used to wear it when a teenager so its cool- VINTAGE.  As for the accessories huge pearl earrings by: I got to check, but in case it doesn’t have the name tag- WELL WHO CARES- they’re beautiful.  My aunt used it for her wedding- she gave them to my sister because she kept telling her I loved the earrings the instant I saw them.

Second STYLE: Black Ray-Ban’s – they were a friends but he left them at my house and we haven’t seen each other so, till further notice- meeting, they’re MINE.  HAHA.  Black boot for winter: I cut the bottom part- it as too rough for me – I wore them for Halloween since I was a pirate and the roughness of it fir the costume- then I tried wearing it with other clothes but I didn’t result – (yes, I actually miss things by taking in consideration the balance they make with everything else of the outfit).  So I cut the bottom part since it was annoying me and there you have some new black winter boots, they were my mom’s and she gave them to me a few years ago!

Black babe formal pants: my aunt gave them to me since she wasn’t fitting in them - she became chubbier after giving birth to my beautiful nephews.  But she has marvelous taste in clothes- and she knows I’m crazy with silk and fashion itself.  So there it is – FROM FORMAL TO WICKED- that how I roll.

And for last but not least, black holes gloves. My sister bought this for a presentation- she was a bee and stuff.  Anyway, I found them a few months ago and have only wore them twice in my life – one: to go out. Two: for this picture. I only wear it in one hand not because it looks cool – but because – ONLY GOD KNOWS-where the other pair is.”
