Karl Lagerfeld & Macy's

This summer came with amazing news for all the fashion junkies out there: Karl Lagerfeld has decided to design a new collection for Macy’s, the U.S.-based department store.  Karl’s new 45-piece collection will hit stores on August 31^st and will feature high collars and plenty of tweed… But beware of the sizes ladies, Mr. Lagerfeld has said he only designs for “slender and slim people”.

It’s always great when big-name designers create a more affordable collection for the masses. This will DEFINITELY be one for the books… I can’t wait to see it and report back to you all.

Roberto Cadette is one of my favorite fashion photographers from my island, The Dominican Republic.  He knows how to capture a MOMENT, using his extreme creativity and ability to play with spaces/colors.

This post showcases one of his photo shoots, featuring Conrad Wittkop, one of Santo Domingo’s coolest DJs.  Conrad not only knows how to create a rocking beat, but also has really amazing style.  He can even make a t-shirt/jeans combo look sexy…. Roberto and Conrad make an amazing team!

To be a photographer, you have to have the EYE and the STYLE, both of which Roberto Cadette has in spades.  He brings a beautiful light to all of his photographs.

Sequined Bodrum, Turkey

A Sequined blouse with a touch of Sunset, the perfect outfit for the beach.  I have always loved to wear sequins whenever I go to paradise.  Bathing suits, shirts, headbands, shorts… choose anything that shines in the sunlight.

Black, as I mentioned on the earlier Bodrum post, is very IN this summer.  Pair the black with a touch of color and sparkle.  A sequined outfit is a bold choice, but trust me, IT WORKS.  It gives a sophisticated, sparkly vibe.

For this shoot, I am wearing a vintage top, H&M headband and sunglasses, and bracelets from the Dominican Republic (a gift from my mother).

Tropical Rainbow

Hippies have ruled the fashion runway this summer: the headbands, the rainbow sweaters, the retro-style aviators and the colored shorts.

My beautiful jungle island, the Dominican Republic, is filled with beaches of unexplainable beauty and eternal paradise… it is summer all year long.

You can be a hippie for life, just wear summer shorts and those amazingly colored sleeveless tops.

For this shoot, Ashley is wearing a rainbow-colored Bebe vest, a custom-made tank top, Zara shoes, and vintage bangles and belt.

My trip to Bodrum was one of the most amazing trips I have ever experienced! 

Bodrum, a beach in the heart of Turkey, is filled to the brim with amazing sunsets and incredible views.   The food, the people, and the music were all amazing.  It’s a location you MUST add to your bucket list.

I know it is not very common to wear a black bikini at the beach, but this summer, black is IN!

For this shoot, I wore an ASOS bikini and H&M sunglasses.

BBQ.

Someone once said, “You just gotta ignite the light and let it shine.”  My favorite NYC fashionista accomplished this with her stupendous BBQ outfit.  

I think it is hard sometimes to find a traditional, versatile piece of clothing.

Her shorts are my FAVORITE part of this look.  Even though they are a peachy-orange, they can be paired with any summer piece and are perfect to show off her great legs.

Her scalloped peter pan collar nicely frames her beautiful face.   The simple while color of the blouse will be able to transition her right into Fall.

For this shoot, she is wearing Topshop shorts and blouse, vintage belt, shoes from Cannes, Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses, and vintage Marc Jacobs earrings.
