Crazy Love

Dominican designer José Jhan did it again with his FABULOUS new formalwear collection, entitled CRAZY LOVE!

I love the colors José used in his suits, from pink to blue to the crisp white. Plus the cut of his lapels made the male models look just ADORABLE.

And did I mention the ties?  Instead of using the classic bow tie, José designed longer bolo-esque ties that were tied into sweetly imperfect bows.  Combine those ties with buttoned-up boots and it gave the whole collection a WESTERN vibe (think Bruno Mars meets John Wayne).

I am absolutely CRAZY about this collection… Congratulations to my amazing friend!

Welcome to the House of Blondie

New Delhi, India has gotten just a little bit chicer.  Kareena Vinaik, a Domus Academy graduate and very good friend, has taken her love of fashion and styling to the next level by opening a brand new store, House of Blondie.

Described as the lovechild between Chanel and H&M, this store houses cult vintage pieces found in the fashionable streets of London, Milan, and even at home in New Delhi.  Kareena and her partner curate their pieces and store to give them an utterly modern feeling.  As you can see from the photos, vintage doesn’t have to mean old…

When deciding to open the store, Kareena took her newfound Domus Academy knowledge to heart: stay true to who you are and never be afraid to take risks.  As for the name, Kareena describes Blondie as “the figment of my imagination.  She is in constant awe of an era that gave birth to fashion and her house takes one back to that time.”

And that sentiment perfectly describes the store.  It’s vintage, with a modern twist.  Classic, beautiful, and fashion forward, just like Kareena herself.

You can visit House of Blondie in person at 24/4 Hauz Khas Village in New Delhi or online on their website and Facebook page.

Spring and Summer Nights

Ok everyone, now that we have our daywear covered for spring and summer, Modaholic has two CHIC looks for the night!  I am in LOVE…

For spring, try rocking a Topshop dress, Steve Madden shoes, and ASOS earrings and clutch.  Top the look with the HOT lip color!

For summer, be CHIC in a dress from THE OUTNET, Topshop shoes, vintage Chanel earrings from farfetch.com, and a clutch from endless.com.  As for your nail polish, choose a lovely pastel color like LILAC.

Try these looks, ladies, and let us know what you think!

What to Wear for Spring Break

Every year when Spring Break rolls around, I always struggle with what to wear.  I never want to repeat a look, so it get’s a little bit more difficult each year!

But there’s not need to fear this year, as I’ve put together four AMAZING looks that you all can ROCK, no matter the destination.  Try these looks while vacationing here in The Dominican Republic or in some other FABULOUS part of the world!

The first look, Punta Cana, is where you’ll need a more CHIC look.   It’s like being in a city with the beach right in front of you.

The Cabarette look is perfect for this area, one of my favorites here in The Dominican Republic.   All you’ll need is a nice top, cute hat, and a bikini bottom and you’re good to go!

La Terrenas is the locale for the third look.  Have I told you how much I LOVE La Terrenas?  I could live on those beaches forever!  Try rocking a casual look for this beach heaven…

La Romana you can try pretty much anything you like but always, BE CHIC!

Jarabacoa is a bit cold for spring break, but in case you are planning on spending time in colder climates, try this SUPER CUTE look!

Off to the Woods!

Say what you will about Jessica Simpson, that girl sure knows how to design a pair of shoes.   Her new spring looks have her trademark height, but they also bring something fresh to the table (no pun intended): wood heels!

These architecturally cut, wooden beauties will definitely give your spring wardrobe a modern twist.  So leave your classic espadrilles in your closet for a bit and try a pair of Jessica’s chic shoes for this upcoming season.

Plus, not only are they lovely, they’re also affordable… costing less than $100!

Portsmouth Style

As spring rolls around and the weather gets better and better, my amazing cousin Marcelle De Moya, and her beautiful roommate Marcela, decided to enjoy a day in the sun for today’s fashion shoot… what better way to spend a day, right?

For this shoot, the ladies put together a very COOL winter/spring outfit.  Marcela is wearing a Zara black and white blazer, a H&M shirt, Urban Outfitters jeans, and a TO DIE FOR Arden B. necklace.  The rest of her AMAZING jewelry comes courtesy of her recent trip to Istanbul!
