MIlan Fashion Week Day 3

For the third day of Milan Fashion Week, I took pictures outside the Versace fashion show.  I saw so many IMPORTANT people!

First I saw the FABULOUS Anna Wintour, Editor-in-chief of American Vogue.  OH MY GOD, I just love her!  I asked to take a photo with her, but she was late for the Trussardi fashion show… But I won’t rest until I get my second photo with the QUEEN J.  I know I sound like a crazy fan, but I just LOVE her!

Secondly, I saw Anna Dello Russo who was looking AMAZING in a pink dress.  Pink is definitely the IT color this season!

For Milan Fashion Week Day Three, I wore a VIVID fuschia blazer, a white shirt, and a bowtie that I made out of shoelaces, a girl’s gotta improvise right?  Plus I added my vintage Chanel bag (from my mom’s closet) and a H&M necklace.

The funny thing is I saw a guy dressed exactly like me!  I LOVE we are finally at a point where women can wear menswear and look COOL and SEXY!

Hope you all enjoy the photos!

Hippie Beauty "Caffeine’s Good Side"

As I said in my last post, caffeine can be your ally and help you improve the appearance of cellulite.

Maybe you have already noticed, but one of the main ingredients in most anti-cellulite creams is caffeine.  Why is that?  If caffeine causes cellulite, why would they put it in the cream?

Well as I explained in my last post, drinking coffee makes your body produce more acid, which in turn, causes water retention.  BUT when you apply caffeine directly to your skin it has a different effect.  One that is actually beneficial in the fight against the “orange-peel”.  The caffeine does many things, but in a nutshell, it takes the fluid out of fat cells which will make your skin will look smoother.

When looking for an anti-cellulite cream, you may also find that instead of caffeine, the ingredient is called Coffee Berry, which is the actual coffee plant from where caffeine is extracted.  Since caffeine is not only present in coffee, another main ingredient in anti-cellulite creams is Green Tea.

You can also create your own anti-cellulite treatment at home using ground coffee. Yes, the coffee left in your coffee machine, the one you think is useless and throw away.  Ground coffee still contains caffeine, even after it has been brewed, BUT you will have to use the grounds QUICKLY after making coffee.  If you can, try making espresso because the more time the coffee is in contact with hot water, the less caffeine there is.

Here’s how to make the anti-cellulite treatment at home:
1.   Right after you brew your coffee, save the warm coffee grounds.
2.   Mix them with a moisturizing body lotion, almond oil, or coconut oil.
3.   Use your hands to rub the grounds against your thighs, or other affected areas, in a circular motion.  Always follow the natural blood flow, which is upwards (towards the heart).
4.   For a greater effect you can leave the coffee grounds on your body.  Use plastic wrap to cover the areas, but DO NOT make it too tight.  The last thing you want to do is to stop the blood circulation.
5.   Lastly, take a warm bath and enjoy your soft, silky skin.

Please take note that this is a temporary fix and to really get the fat out of your cells, there is no better cure than a healthy lifestyle, including a well-balanced diet with plenty of water and regular exercise.

Extra tip: I have personally tried the Sveltyness patches and they have worked on me.  I did not have any side effects, but as with every treatment, the effect was temporary.

Milan Fashion Week Day 2 "D&G"

Today was another great day at Milan Fashion Week!  I did some COOL hunting outside the D&G fashion show.

I have to admit I wasn’t BLOWN AWAY by many outfits, but I did see a few that were COOL and INTERESTING…

The highlight of my day was having my picture taken with the AMAZING Nina Garcia!  Just before we took this picture together, she being interviewed by a fashion channel and she was absolutely in LOVE with D&G’s new collection!  I will post pictures of the collection soon…

Since I was out COOL hunting today, I stuck to classically CHIC black and white with a twist.  I was wearing one of my FAVORITE vintage shirts, a black skirt from NYC, and SUPER comfortable black and white oxford shoes.  The shirt, and my AMAZING sunglasses, added the right amount color to my outfit!

Hope you all enjoy the photos!

Milan Fashion Week Day 1 " Part 2-Outside Gucci"

Yesterday you all got an inside look of the runways on Day One of Milan Fashion Week.  Now it’s time to see how people dressed on the runway outside!

For me the street is the most important runway of all.  How we dress up every morning defines WHO we are and WHAT we are about.  Even as small a detail as a scarf can change an outfit and how we feel that day.

Yesterday, the outfits were so COLORFUL and FUNKY.  My two favorite looks were a man wearing an Alexander McQueen scarf and another man carrying a Hermes Birkin bag.  WOW, the man with the Birkin Bag is definitely Murse material!

I hope you enjoy the photos, stay tuned for more… This week is Fashion Mania in Milano!
